Should I retake these Subject Tests?

Hey there :)

Here are my scores the first time I took the subject tests:

maths lvl 2: 760
physics: 780

I'm thinking about retaking the tests, since there is a high chance to score higher. Should I retake the test? Will it make any difference?

thanks :)

ps: I'm aiming for tom universities like MIT and Stanford

Although scores are extremely important, especially at a school such as MIT, by the time you break the 750’s, I believe it is more dependent on your other activities: courseload, GPA, ECs, etc. After all, while an 800 places you above a 750, this is not nearly as significant an advantage as graduating valedictorian, being an All-State musician, captain of an athletic team, etc.

You may find better luck on the college admissions thread. Or, you may want to see these threads:

thank you very much for your information :))

if you’re absolutely positive you can score higher, than go for it. but with those already very high scores, it might be hard to do, like if you have an off day…

it’s not like i’m 100% sure I’ll score higher, cause you never know, it might just be a bad day. However, if nothing weird goes on, I should score higher, at least in Maths :)

Go for the 800 in Math Level 2 only if minimal studying is needed.

well, I can’t say minimal study will be enough, but still, I think I’ll go for the 800 after finishing with sat1 :)
