Should I retake to make my App stronger?

<p>I've thought long and hard, and though I had aspired to attend UVa, I think VTech is a better fit for me, though that might change.</p>

<p>My GPA is a 3.92 W and a 3.72 W</p>

<p>I have 7 leadership positions and have gotten my fair share of awards.</p>

<p>I'm expecting my teacher rec's to be great and I think I can pull off a nicely polished essay.</p>

<p>My SAT score is a 1990. My SAT II Scores: 800 Bio (Expecting 750+ in USH)
ACT practice scores are around 32.</p>

<p>Should I re-take my SAT?
What are my chances currently?</p>

<p>Virginia Tech does not look at SAT II’s or the writing portion of the SAT. The middle 50% of accepted students have around a 1277 on their composite SAT score.</p>

<p>They do not look at the writing portion of the SAT so it is out of 1600.</p>

<p>oh alright that helps, I guess I’ll retake it becase my MV is 1280, so I should get that to around 1350-1400 to be really competitive.</p>

<p>You’re right on the middle 50% right now so you’re already competitive, but scoring higher can only help</p>

<p>Do not focus only on your SAT score. A friend of mine had upwards of a 1550 on the SAT and was waitlisted due to GPA. Make sure your application is well rounded.</p>
