Should I retake...?

I know its being really nitpicky, and I feel bad for even asking, but I got a 2260 on my SAT (beginning of junior year). I have a whole year till I apply, so I have time to decide, but should I retake? The only reason I want to is because WR is the easiest section and it would be nice to bring it up. Would a 750 WR be considerably better?

I am looking to apply to highly selective schools; my top 5 are all Ivies.

I got:
800 CR
780 M
680 WR

Definitely go ahead and retake it. That writing score looks a bit low when compared to reading and math. But don’t make the SAT your only worry; remember to take the ACT and SAT subject tests

Fortunately for you, you have a fantastic 1600 score. 1580/1600. Majority of schools focus on the 1600 more so than the 2400 but there’s also a unspoken generally agreed upon goal score of 2280 when applying to Ivies. I’m assuming you only took it once so… Yes I think you should take it again and just practice the writing questions. That section is arguably the easiest to raise your score in. Also there’s only so many types of questions they can pose so if you identify the categories and attack what you’re weak in you should be able to bring your score up to the 2300s no problem.

You should retake! It doesn’t hurt you even if you do worse. Unless you think there is no way you can improve your writing score, you should retake.
