Hello everyone this is my first post.

In march I got a 2260-- m 800, cr 680, wr 780
I retook it in may and got a 2120--m 670 (forgot calculator......), cr 730, wr 720

Couple things to keep in mind...
I have a 780 in math level 2 ( so i think most colleges would ignore that 670)
I am looking to apply to top tier schools who have critical reading mostly in high 700s
I am asian american
I have a bunch of cool EC and am ranked 1 in my class.

So what do you think? Retake in october to fix the 670 and hopefully raise cr to over 750?

Don’t bother. Your Superscore is 2310, which is good enough for any college. Look at it this way, if you don’t get accepted to the college you want, it won’t be because of your SAT score. So I’d focus on the other aspects of your application

I second Prospector’s advice, retaking when you have 720+ in all sections will not gain anything for you.

Your superscore looks great. Just make sure the schools you apply accept superscore (or all score), then you are all set with SAT.

Meh. A 1310 superscore is probably good enough to get your foot in the door with respect to admissions at the top-tier colleges.

On a related note…
670 on Math because you forgot to bring your calculator? That’s really not a great excuse. Strong math students can take the SAT Math sections without using a calculator at all. Moreover, something wasn’t right with your SAT prep if your Writing score went down by 60 points. A composite SAT score that falls by 140 points is an indicator that you focused on the wrong things (possible), you didn’t put in enough work (probable), or a combination of the two (most likely).
