Should I retake?

This may come off as one of the stupidest questions ever. But i took the SAT twice (first time: CR760, M690, W690 second time: CR700, M800, W780) so I have a superscore of 2340. I want to go to MIT; should I retake it or does it not matter? Should I just take the ACT? Thanks!

You have a great score, even without superscoring. Any increase now won’t make a big difference. Of course you can still choose to retake, but think about if it’s worth your time and money (especially if you’re going to prep more for the retake). I don’t see any reason for you to take the ACT.
If it helps at all, my friend recently got into MIT with a 34 on the ACT (granted her GPA’s pretty insane, 4.6ish weighted, close to 4.0 unweighted).

thanks @mineO3O‌ ! but my gpa isnt too great (4.2 W, 3.83 uw) so i am trying in vain to compensate for it with standardized tests lol

Yeah I think you can’t really “compensate” for anything. Although your GPA isn’t outstanding for schools like MIT, it’s definitely not bad either. If there’s anything else you can improve on, especially revising your essays, that may be a better use of your time than retaking the test. You would have to be the one to make that judgement.

The difference between a 2340 and a 2400 can be two questions… Save your money and your time

Nope, you’re good.
