Should I Retake?

CR-590
Math-600
Writing-610

Overall:1800

Highest I scored on a practice test was an 1860 and I'm positive I can do a little better on the CR and Writing (but it wouldnt be a huge difference). But, I did the best I've ever done on the math so I'm guessing I'd lose points there.

Schools I'm interested in: UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, UC Riverside, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of San Diego

So should I retake it?

Was that your first time taking it?

Yes and I really don't want to go through this nonsense again.

If it was your first time, I suggest retaking it once more.

It doesn't matter if you lose points since generally, colleges tally up your highest individual section scores anyway.

Yes.
10 char

I know someone who retook with a score similar to yours, and she improved more than 100 points. But I don't know how much she prepped... still, it's probably worth a shot, if you're not overly busy with other stuff, I guess.

Do the UC's take your best individual scores or your best scores from one sitting? I'm asking because I'm applying to mostly UC's, Cal Poly, and USD.

best sitting. sorry that you got a low score. use the aruubato method. (take all 8 tests from blue book, 6 tests from online course, get a test from a friend who got teh question and answer service which includes the real sat questions from a session, take teh one college board has online for me) total 16 tests. Take a few sections each day. review each one like you love sats. You will get 2300+ fosho.

My parents already spent a lot of money on private tutoring for me for this test and I did tons of preparation on my own. I took practice tests from the Blue Book (5 of them) and took the proctored practice tests the tutoring company gave. I think I improved a lot as I scored a 1600 on the PSAT and the first few practice tests again.

I'm not looking to get into Ivy League schools. I want to go to a UC, preferrably UC Irvine. Is my 1800 enough to get me where I want to go? (I've got a 3.75 weighted GPA, plenty of community service, a job, sports, AP's, etc)

Thanks.....

i personally don't think 1800's enough for UC irvine. or i would be there right now as an 8th grade college student.
