Hey wattup?

This SAT, ACT thing is really messing with my mind.

Do you think i should retake either test?

SAT: Total= 1980/2400 1390/1600
Math-740
Verbal- 630
Writing- 590

ACT: Composite=34
English-36
Math-34
Reading-32
Science-35
Combined English/Writing- 32 (essay-08)

I think the ACT is much better than the SAT. How weird will it look though with the "opposite" english type scores?

Should I retake the SAT?

If I send these scores, will colleges look at both tests or just the ACT?
(I would only send the SAT because of Subject Tests)

While I'm asking...
These are my subject test scores:
Math 1: 730
Math 1: 740 (2nd time taken)
Math 2: 780
Biology: 750
Chemistry: 570 (forced to take after sophmore yr, horrible class)

Any idea how these will match up at: UPenn, Cornell, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Bucknell, Lehigh, Villanova, RPI, WPI?

BTW: applying for engineering

& does anyone have any good ideas for reaches (similar to Notre Dame, not Penn too high of a reach)

Thanks

don’t retake SAT ur ACT compensates it. They only look at your higher score.

Yes retake. Colleges will see your SAT I scores when you send in your SAT II scores.

^ so they still only look at your best score

Stop worrying so much about your scores and numbers. Portray your passions in life in your apps and you will get in anywhere, its not all about numbers.

exactly, you should go mountain climbing or hoboing or something similarly rad

Not sure what your educational background might be lazydog but I’m assuming High School, and if you are in college or graduated from whatever college you went I would surmise that you didn’t learn much but how to add up your gpa. There’s a difference between being fixated with grades and truly wanting to learn because you enjoy the subject, the grades will come easily if you have this perspective.

dude, im dead serious i plan on writing my admissions essay about climbing a mountain. It shoud be awsome. i wasnt being sarcastic or anything, i totally agree about pursuing your passions and portraying them in your applications. Hoboing just happens to be one of my dream accomplishments in life. I though some people here might have similar dreams.

to irishkid101- find your passion and pursue it, then write about it

Your ACT is high enough. I think you could cancel your SAT scores so that colleges won’t see them when you send your SATIIs, but you would have to check with the college board on that one.

34 ACT = 2260 SATs

your ACT is very good. I don’t think there’s a need to retake the SAT.
