Hi,
On my most recent SAT, I got a 2260 overall, with a 800 in writing, a 780 in math, but only a 680 in Critical Reading.

Would the scores I got on my most recent SAT test be enough to be accepted into an ivy league? I am thinking of retaking it b/c of the CR score, do you guys thing colleges like Yale, Brown etc. would care about the lopsided score? Do you think I should retake the SAT in the fall?

I wouldn’t worry about the lopsided score. Go to collegeboard.com and see average SAT scores of applicants and try to beat that. If you beat them you’re probably good. I got a 2260 too, except 800 in math and 780 in writing, and 680 on verbal. I was fine, and got into Swarthmore and UChicago. I honestly wouldn’t retake it if I were you.

^dchow, can you link to where that info is found?

I went to [:: College Planning Made Easy | Inside Source for College Admissions Requirements](http://www.collegeboard.com) and under College Search, put in the college name, then I clicked on SAT, AP, CLEP to see the scores of the middle 50% of first-year students.

2260 isnt too bad…

dchow08, I thought you meant the average SAT scores of applicants, not those accepted.

Yeah. I thought the site had average SAT scores of applicants, but when I found the link I realize it was of those accepted. But that’s an even better measure of what to aim for.

Perhaps it is, but for a long time I’ve been very interested to see the average scores of the applicants themselves because the idea propagated on CC that the vast majority of people applying to the Ivy Leagues and other top schools are 4.0 GPA 2350 SAT scorers is frankly implausible.
