I'm going to apply to Duke ED this fall and if I am not accepted early, I will apply to some ivies and several other highly selective colleges. These are my scores so far and I want to know if I should retake the SAT and/or take more SAT IIs.

SAT: 2140
Math - 700 (I had been scoring 800s on practice test)
Critical Reading - 720 (I had been scoring around 650 on practice tests so this was exciting)
Writing - 720

SAT II:
Bio - 630 (I was a freshman)

My thread went through before I could finish...

SAT II (continued):
Math IC - 750
US History - 770

ACT:
Have not received scores yet (took the test June 11th but mine are not available yet)

I also got a 5 on the US History AP...

Which tests should I take/retake?

in my opinion:

take the regular sat in november and then take math IIc and bio in october. the reason I say this is because in november, the curve will be way more forgivable then in october for the regular sat. everyone takes the sat1 in october, thus the curves for the IIs will be more forgivable. your ush score is awesome, but math could be higher.

another great thing about november, is that if you do worse, the colleges don't have to know about it. just send your scores to all the colleges you plan to apply to in late october and then if you screw up in november, don't send them the scores--no pressure. if it hurts you, they dont need to know about it. good luck with duke, but if I were you, I would look into a school that's more fun, like columbia.

I thought that november scores won't necessarily get to colleges on time for Early Decision? Also, I am not taking Bio again because Duke only requires 2 SAT IIs and I have not taken bio since freshmen year. Do you really think there is a big difference in the october and november curves?
