I know I'm gonna get blasted for this but I'm wondering weather or not I should retake a 2230 (CR:710 Math:760 Writing:760 with 10 on essay). I come from a extremely competitive private school in LA and am looking at Top Schools (Stanford, Brown, Penn etc.). The thing is my GPA is not amazing 3.63 because I've taken extremely hard classes, maybe too hard for my liking (Calc BC as a Junior with a B-). My ECs are very solid but I feel that getting above 2300 could help supplement for my GPA. Also currently out of a 100 person class, I have about the 10th best SAT score and those kids are my biggest competition.

no, don’t retake. a 2300 will not add .4 to your gpa, no matter how much you want it to. a 22xx won’t keep you out of any schools but your gpa will so spend this coming year on bringing it up, if anything

but it won’t make me a more competitive candidate?

If you think you can score higher, retake it. It doesnt matter what score you start from anymore because of score choice and superscoring.

I agree with nickst22.
