I took the New SAT in June and got 800 CR 740 M 680 W. I haven't taken any SAT II's yet but plan on taking Math IIC, US, and World this fall. Before the II's though, I have to figure out if I should retake the SAT I. I'm okay with the CR and M scores but the 680 W comes off as kind of a bad SAT II score. I don't even know. Any suggestions?

Also, does anyone else think it's weird that I got a 740 math for only missing two problems: one a grid in and the other one normal? Just wondering.

Thanks for any help. ^_^

nah writing is harder this year.

a 680 is like 750 before...

ps colleges don look at it too extensively

So you mean the curve is harder than the old SAT II writing test? That's reassuring. Any thoughts on why the math curve was so harsh? 2 wrong and bam, 60 scale points.

Possibly you had an easy Math section, and tons of people did very well on it. I on the other hand had a difficult math section for the May SAT, and 2 wrong/1 omit got me a 770.

check out if the colleges you are applying to even need the writting part. some dont even look at the writting part of the new sats.

Do you know which ones aren't looking at writing?

georgetown:(from the website) "Students in the high school graduating class of 2006 will have the option of submitting scores from either the new or existing version of the SAT. Georgetown Admissions Committees will only consider the verbal and math portions of the new SAT." about sat2s: "All candidates, whether they submit scores from the SAT or ACT, should submit scores from 3 SAT II subject tests. The writing portion on the new SAT will not be substituted for an SAT II subject test score."

i would assume that other schools may be the same... however you should check out the specific schools you are interested in. good luck!

**i have no idea how that sad face got in there, please ignore that^
