Should I retake?

I'm at the awkward stage where I'm waiting on my ACT results, which I'm hoping were 28+ to aid my chances. If not should I retake the SAT?

I got 1820 (M 670 CR 560 W 590). I know I could do better on Critical Reading (I was getting in the 620-640 range on practice tests), but my performence on math is likely unrepeatable. Also I am afraid it might conflict with my goal of being done with the Application process by December, and might in fact hinder my aps. Also I have to take the SAT II for UC's before december. Hopefully I got a good score on the ACT, and I won't have to, but if I don't should I retake it?

I have five schools that retaking would be aimed at: Wisconsin, Texas, Washington, Pitt and Ohio State

I would definitely retake, as you are on the low end of the central range for these schools. Practice with a serious focus on the CR and W sections, as they will superscore with your better math score.

I agree with sylvan, you should definitely retake.

My opinion is the same as the others. Your SAT score is not that great, so you should definitely take it again. As for your ACT, if you get that 28, then maybe you should consider to forget about the SAT. Did you take act plus writing?

Yeah, and I probably got somewhere in the 27-29 range. as for the SAT I don’t know if I could really improve my writing score. I’m almost positive I could get at least 600 on CR, and like I say it’d probably be in the 620-640 range. I honestly have no idea about writing.

and I left off my safeties, because I’m pretty sure I’d get in (I’m assured admissions at one of them). I’m just hoping for a 28+ at this point.
