should i return my 15 inch laptop for a 13 inch?

I just bought a 15 inch macbook pro, it's great! It does feel a little big though... I'm majoring in Information technology so i'll do a little programming with it, but other than that just standard college stuff. I'm having weird second thoughts though. I didn't get the 13 inch because i thought it would be too small.

My question: Is the 15 inch going to fit on my desk in classes? Will I regret buying it? Am I better off with a 13 inch laptop and external monitor for my dorm? i plan on taking my laptop most places with me, so portability is important, but i do like the extra 2 inches. is the 13 inch a lot easier to move around/a better choice? I just don't want to be stuck with a small computer for 4 years. I was thinking most students get 15 inchers anyway, but i could be wrong. Any insight? thanks!

Having had both a 13" MacBook and a 15" PowerBook G4 I can sorta see where you’re going.

You’ll probably be fine with the 15". Depending on why you have the 15", the 13" may be too much of a compromise (for me, the low resolution screen drove me crazy!) The weight difference is subtle, but noticable… however since you’re not carrying a power brick or anything it’s REALLY not a big deal. Really.

I’m doing the exact opposite as you… upgrading from the 13" to the 15". I think you’ll enjoy the extra screen real estate.

thank you! I decided to keep the 15 inch :)
