Should I say I am trans on transfer Common App?

I am a transgender freshman at an all-women’s college who would like to transfer to a coeducational institution. You can read more about that here (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1727795-transferring-to-transgender-friendly-college.html).

On the Common App for transfer students, the writing prompt asks us to explain our reasons for transferring and what we hope to achieve at other colleges. Me being transgender is one of the major motivations for me to transfer, but I am not sure if I should be honest and put this down on my application. Should I be honest and state my real reasons, or use backup reasons instead?

Honestly, I’d say it depends on the school you’re applying to and if they’re pretty liberal/social justice aware. Pomona, for example, asks you how you identify on their app. The Claremont Colleges, in general, are supportive of transgender people http://www.pomona.edu/administration/qrc/transition/ Not sure about other schools.
