Should I schedule an interview?

I got an automated email from case saying that i can schedule and interview with a case alumni and interviews are pretty important in the application process. I am REALLY bad at interviews (i know its an important skill), and my stats are pretty good. i honestly dont think i have anything extra to offer that i didnt include in my application. should i still go ahead and schedule an interview or should i be fine?

Have you had a chance to visit campus yet? If yes, then I would not bother. If not, it is a good way to show interest.
Part of the interview is for the alumni to talk to you about Case. These are not “gotcha” interviews.

@bopper‌ true, but i often turn good situations into “gotcha” situations, trust me. there is prolly a 50 percent chance ill mess up this interview, so is it worth the risk? ive sent case a BUNCH of emails with questions, so i think i show interest that way. i have not visited the campus yet, but i talked to a case alumni at my schools college fair.

@toesockshoe‌ I’m just curious- in your October chance me thread you state that you are a junior…but everything else seems to indicate you are applying now…
As far as the interview…that’s tricky because Case definitely likes you to show interest. You seem to have that covered with the college fair (were you able to fill any interest cards at that time or at least put your name on a list indicating you were there?) and your emails. Could you possibly visit- that way your name would be in one more place plus you really should visit a few of the places you have strong interest in if possible. Where does Case fall on your list of schools you’d like to attend?

@Sdgal2‌ yeah, i started all the chance me threads last year, and i just copy paste all my chances. i probably forgot to change it from junior to senior, but i am a senior now. i did not put my name on the college fair list (he didnt have any list). also, i did the case financial calculator and my CoA is a still too pricey. my dad makes too much and i dont have high enough stats to get a HUGE scholarship (only about 17k, which isnt too high considering most case applicants get >20k scholarships). Unless they somehow reduce my price to under 35k (25k scholarship), then I probably wont consider it.

I sent to a bunch of emails to case and also applied early to case (does that show good interest). that being said, do you consider I still take a risk and do the interview?

Sure, why not?! If nothing else it is valuable experience in interviewing. The nice thing is, you actually can go in thinking you have nothing to lose because the price may be too high. Maybe this will relax you…just enjoy the process, try not to think too much into it. Have a couple questions prepared and think about answers to things like What do you like to do in your spare time, what books/magazines do you read? Favorites? What about Case appeals to you? You will be fine…good luck!
