(Nobody answered me in my other thread, so I'll post it here I guess...)

Next year im taking this community college course called U.S. History and Government, and taking the AP test is an option at the end of the year (although nobody in my school really does). I don't know if I wanna self the AP course because even though I would probably get college credit I don't know if I'll need it, seeing I will probably a biology major. HOWEVER would I still need to take an introductory history courses for like GE requirements or something? Because if I have to take a history course in college, I probably will self-USH to get out of that.

Wouldn’t the credit from your community college class transfer to your college next year anyway? The AP exam will only help you if that credit will not transfer for some reason.

My counselor says that cc credits are not always accepted by colleges (I doubt Harvard would accept a measly community college credit…especially from my town…). But I don’t know if its possible to do it. Like, silverturtle’s guide said it is self-studiable but one of the stickies (the one by the taiwanese guy im too lazy to look the username up) said it would be hard because of the DBQs. So i’m kinda over the fence right now. Also, I deff want to self ap psych next year, if that makes a difference.

You might as well take it, I would, unless you don’t have time to study for the ap test (which is somewhat challenging)
