a top school in particular...rice. my school only has 2 AP classes: stats and calc ab. i can't get into either of them because i dropped the honors math track after freshman year, unfortunately. when i see everyone's stats, they always have lists of ap scores...i don't want to lose my chances of getting into my dream school(s) because of something like that. because honestly, if i don't have any AP tests and most other applicants do, what will that look like? i'm just freaking out about everything. what should i do?

Is there schools around you that offer AP classes? A college will probably take in to account that your school had very very slim AP choices, but you should try and take as many as you can if you are able to do that. That would show a college that you care about your education and are willing to go an extra mile.

Self studying would be good too! My school has a lot of AP choices, but I still do as many as I can just to get some college credit.

It can’t hurt and it does show initiative in your education, but it isn’t vital to getting in. It is better if you want college credit than for boosting your application, if you aren’t taking a class.
