Should I send a musical composition as an arts supplement?

I'm not interested in majoring in anything music related, but I love composing music, and I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to send one of my compositions to colleges as an arts supplement. I'm probably going to write one of my supplemental essays about composing music, so it'd be nice to complement that with an actual recording of something I composed.

Here's the dilemma: I'm not really a classically trained musician. I've never played music in any kind of orchestra. I don't even compose classical music. I'd describe most of my music as experimental indie rock, usually based around guitar, piano, drums, and even some electronic music sounds. I'm not especially technically skilled, and I don't play the instruments with perfect rhythm or virtuoso-level technique. Would colleges appreciate one of my compositions or would they just find this type of music annoying/unimpressive?
