Should I send a somewhat poor recommendation?

First off, I should mention that these teachers have given me their letters of recommendation, and that it's the norm at my school. Two teachers have given me their letters so far, still waiting on the third.

I have asked 3 teachers for recs, and 2 of them should be pretty good / more than grade information.

The other, however, isn't really that great. It's still a positive letter, but the teacher asked for a list of extra curriculars and some grade information. That's pretty much all the letter is about.

Essentially, it's all information that is found in my transcript or in my list of ECs.

Obviously I'll still going to thank the teacher and write a thank you note, but should I even send this rec if the other two are much better?

if the school only requires two, then just send two

Most schools seem to want 2 plus the GC, so you don’t have a problem.

I have a similar problem, but I’ve only asked recs from two teachers. I’m going to use the EC/generic rec for a couple of my safety schools, and ask a third teacher for the rest of the schools.

So it all depends whether you think the recs will greatly lower your chances of getting in to your colleges.
