Should I send a supplement?

I like to sew, knit, and bead things, and I like to think that I am good at it. I am thinking about sending in pictures of my creations on a supplement because crafting is an important part of who I am, and I'd like the admissions people to see that.

Should I send a supplement? And if so, should I send it in as an art portfolio, or as something else?

Absolutely send a supplement! The best way might be to take some pictures and upload them on a website, then put the link in the application.

The art portfolio is really set up for visual artists – I don’t think there are any fiber arts faculty in the art department at MIT. But the admissions officers will be happy to see your finished objects.

(I’m a knitter, too. Are you on Ravelry?)

no, i’m not on ralvery yet, but i might start one.

Where on the application do you think i should put the link?

Also, do you know anyone who has made such a website, so I can see an example of one?

I don’t have a copy of the application, but the admissions website indicates that there’s a spot for a URL somewhere in part II:

For pictures, you could always set up a Flickr/other free photo site account.
