I'm taking the June 14th ACT plus Writing and am planning on applying to Columbia, but I'm just wondering if I should send this score since I may retake the ACT in the fall (Sept. or Oct.). I guess my question is: will they just look at my highest ACT score if I send both? Should I send the June ACT score right away or wait and possibly just send the score from the fall? If I send the June score and the Fall score will they look at both of them or just the highest score?

Yes, they look at your best performance. The only way it would hurt to send multiple tests would be if you took the SAT/ACT more than 3 times (in which case they look at you with a grain of salt because many people can’t afford taking the test that often) or if you got a 35 and retook it for a 36 (in which case you appear too test-focused, especially if you skipped something meaningful to take the test). It’ll save you some cash to just autosend it now.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully I do good enough this time around that I won’t need to take it in the fall!

Good luck! Also sending scores earlier helps if they superscore.
