Should I send all SAT or all ACT?

Hey everyone. So here are my results for my SAT and ACT.

1820 Old SAT

1450 New SAT

Subject Tests: 800 Math 2 and 760 Chemistry

OR 32 ACT, 9 on Essay

Should I send all of my ACT or all of my SAT to Yale/Stanford?

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thank you! I guess in a sense, from the SAT you would see improvement vs. the ACT. But the ACT might look better because it was one single setting and that one time I took the ACT, I got a competitive score.

Not sure about Yale, but for Stanford you are required to send all scores of any SAT or ACT tests you have taken. There is no choice involved with those tests. For the SAT Subject tests, you can choose to send or not, but those scores are good, so no issue sending them (other than cost).

I’m not familiar with what Yale requires, so cannot comment there.

“Yale does not participate in Score Choice for the reporting of SAT or ACT scores. You should report all scores you have received on whichever test you choose to submit. If you submit both the SAT and ACT to Yale, you should submit all scores received on both tests.”

According to this, I think it is safe to assume that I must report all scores from either SAT or ACT. So. all scores from SAT OR all scores from ACT for Yale.

Would it be okay if I sent an email to Stanford explaining that sending ACT scores would be too costly for my family along with a downloaded score report?

Standford requires all SAT and all ACT, Stanford accepts affordability as an excuse if you qualify for a fee waiver, which you can use to send one offical report, but then you must self-report any other test scores on the application. See http://admission.stanford.edu/application/freshman/testing.html

Yale requires either all SAT or all ACT, so you coud send just ACT, along with any subject ttests you want to send.

As to impact of sending all scores, colleges, including Yale and Standford, use, to determine admission, that test which they believe is the better for you, SAT or ACT, when you submit both.
