Lets say I have taken the old SAT 3 times. First time I score a 2000, second I score a 2150, and on my final attempt I score a 2300.
Say I am applying to selective colleges whose average SATs are around 2250 and they have an SAT score policy so that you can send your best (super)score. If I did this, they wouldn’t see my 2000, or 2150.
My question is should I send all my scores anyways? Would a college appreciate it? Could it harm me? Could it help?
Thanks.
If a school lets you just send your best score, only send the 2300. You don’t want them seeing the lower scores if they don’t have to.
There is no need to send all scores. You don’t get bonus points for having consistently high scores. If a school doesn’t require all scores, just send your best score/superscore. Also, you would be paying an extra $12 for each score you send, so why spend that money if you don’t have to?
@sophie9999 If you decide to send all scores, it’s still $12.
@7YearsPerHour Ah okay, my mistake. I still don’t think sending all scores is going to help your application in any way. Just send the highest ones.
@sophie9999 Ya, I probably will.
Why would you think a college would “appreciate” it? If the college lets you superscore, do so. Just know that you HS may list all your scores on your transcript, so in this case, it’s not like you’re hiding anything from them.
