I am applying to Boston Universities 7 year Accelerated Medical Program and the application asks if I want to submit any additional info, materials, or essays. I would imagine that includes research abstracts (no I will not send my 45 page research paper). However, I am hesitant to do so because of the circumstances. This research paper was for my AP Capstone Research class, where we work year-round on this one academic research paper on basically any topic of our choosing. Our teacher served as our advisor and it was peer reviewed extensively by our classmates but I don’t think it counts as peer reviewed in the professional sense. My paper compared the ethnic concentration of certain localities to the rates of depression of immigrants of the same ethnicity residing there as well as conducting multiple interviews with immigrants to map out their experience in moving to a place where they felt excluded or welcomed. Very technical I know. I ended up earning a 5 (the highest grade) for this paper and I think its pretty sophisticated. I was never able to get this submitted for publication because my high schools institutional review board couldn’t approve my project in time, and it was not a prerequisite for the AP class. What should I do?
