Should I send an email reiterating my interest in Columbia?

Hi,
I'm a high school senior, and I applied to Columbia Regular Decision. I honestly didn't know much about when I applied (my mom made me pick two Ivies), but now I'm falling in love with it. I have the email of the regional director, from a friend who got in ED. I was wondering if I should email her just reiterating my interest in Columbia. Its become my top choice, and although its a long shot, I just got into Cornell and though I'd give it a try.

If I should, what should I say?

Thank you so much!

I don’t think Columbia takes interest into consideration.

So you don’t think it would help at all?

Well give it a try. It won’t hurt I think.

I don’t think it would help much since many people who applied would also love to go to Columbia and they can’t just count interest. They can only accept people who are well qualified to be accepted. Goodluck!
