Should I send an update letter?

I was nominated for the presidential scholars program about a month ago. I was wondering if it was too late or if I should send an update letter to Columbia about it.

were u deferred, or are you a RD applicant?

I applied RD

oh. i still think you should, but it might be too late. just saying.

Congratulations! Even if it might be late, I think you should still send it, because that is a great accomplishment.

all the 2400 guys got nominated for the presidential scholars program. nothing new. silly to send updates. isn’t it?

^Lower scores may still make the cutoff in some states, but I agree that it’s unnecessary to update them. It basically says, “Hey, you know that SAT score you already have? I got nominated for something because of it.”

I disagree with the people who say this honor isn’t a big deal. Why not send the email? It is, after all, an update on your application. It could help, and if it doesn’t help, it sure as heck isn’t going to hurt, especially if worded in a well-written and concise email.

Have to agree with breakdown here. Send it.
