should I send both act and sat?

I took both SAT with essay and ACT without essay. Essay part is required by Harvard. My SAT is 1590 and ACT is 36.
I will send SAT+essay score. Is it necessary to send my ACT without essay?
Also does it help to send more than 2 SAT subject test scores? Thanks!

Dude, like chill. Congrats, you got perfect scores on two standardized tests, send whichever you want, like are you serious? You obviously already know the answer, just wanted to showboat. Seriously if you can get a perfect score on the SAT/ACT I’m pretty sure you can use some analytic skills to deduce it doesn’t matter which one you send in.

Pertaining the SAT subject test, again sending more than 2 will not help.

Thanks for your help! I have no means to show off.
I did not get a perfect score on SAT. I did get a perfect score on ACT but I did not take the essay part. That’s why I ask.

Send both.

I agree with Sherpa, you should send both.

I would send both. 1590 or 1600 on the SAT is practically the same. Therefore both your ACT and SAT were “perfect”.
Hopefully the rest of your application is equally as impressive. Good luck.

Congrats on your scores. I vote to send both, along with your best SAT subject tests. Good luck!

Thank you all! Will send both. Best wishes to you all!

As you mentioned in your post @lovepenut , Harvard “requires” the essay with either the ACT or the SAT therefore your ACT score, while stellar, will not be considered because you did not take the essay. The following points are included in the link below.

ACT with writing or old SAT or new SAT with writing

We require all applicants to complete the ACT with the writing component, the old SAT, or the new SAT with writing and we normally require two SAT Subject Tests.

@andsometimesY Thanks for the link! I will not send my ACT.

Under the FAQ section, they say this though

So I think there is no harm in sending a non-essay ACT as long as somewhere you have sent a test score with the essay. That’s at least what I am doing

I’d recommend you send it. My daughter didn’t send her 36 ACT to Harvard because it was a state-mandated ACT without essay. They noticed it on her transcript and requested an official score report be sent to them. There’s nothing to lose by sending it.

Very helpful post @BldrDad. To make it easier navigating the application process, we leaned towards following what was given by the school UNLESS we had a real life experience that showed us the contrary.

@lovepenut Just wanted to apologize for my first reply, looking back it was very insensitive, I was having a bad day. I would send both, I don’t think there’s any harm in doing so. Sorry, and I wish you the best in your admission process!

Very helpful post @BldrDad. My ACT was a state-mandated ACT without essay. I will ask my counselor whether it is in my transcript or not.

@Tobster18 Don’t worry about it.
