Should I send both subject tests even though I'm using ACT

Applying to Engineering,

Math 2- 790 (I’d like to think absolutely)
Physics- 700 (??? Heard it’s not that impressive but still above average???)

Thanks for any feedback!

SAT 2s are not required at NU. If you think that your test results are an improvement over your AP score(s) and/or GPA score(s) in the subject area, then send the SAT 2 results. Otherwise, why bother? My son got in ED with no SAT2s.

@nugraddad thanks! And yeah I know they’re optional, but I’m just trying to figure out whether or not the 700 is worth sending, or even if it may be detrimental, I got As in AP Physics both semesters and a 4 on the exam

Jcan - Congratulations on the grade and the score - BTW I hope you mean the AP Physics B & C - NU only gives credit for the Calc based Physics. Sorry I can’t answer your original question about sending in the SAT score - IMHO - you should ask your Guidance Counselor. Good Luck!

@nugraddad I wasn’t allowed to take that version of physics, but I’m aware I won’t get credit, but it was the most difficult available science course of interest available so I don’t regret taking it. Thank you for your input btw!

Jcannon - How come you weren’t allowed to take the calc-based Physics?

@nugraddad they only allowed students who were in calculus, or had taken calculus, to enroll, and this year is my first of calculus, and our teacher moved to the Netherlands to work on nuclear fusion lol so our school doesn’t even offer it anymore

Jcannon - Ouchie, but that should not hurt admit chances - you did try to take the most difficult courses your school offered. Good luck!

@nugraddad thank you for the advice!
