i know Washington University superscores the ACT. If I send in both score reports, my superscored score would be a 32. if i only send in only my highest one, my score would be a 31. i was wondering if i should send in my lower score report of 30 just so i could get a higher superscore.

31
math 33
reading 32
language arts 32
science 28

30
math 32
reading 30
language arts 34
science 25

the only thing that worries me is that if i send in both reports, my lower science score will be shown, and i applying to be a physics major, and i wasnt sure if a bad science score would be bad. the only reason the second score report would help is because of the 34.

HartinGA: YES!! And the funny thing is, I just got back from NJ today, totally not realizing that I was even going to the ACTUAL garden state until I was bombarded with all the license plates there!

I happened to have lived in a lovely, bucolic area of New Jersey - central New Jersey.

Your scores are identical to my daughter's - 31 first time, 30 second time and superscored 32. She sent in both and got accepted ED but she also got 2200 on her second SAT.

Did you take the SAT? Do you have time to take the ACT again? There's a trick to the science - don't read the passages (except the one passage which is all reading). Go straight to the questions. Almost every one can be answered by just looking at the graphs or pictures. It really has nothing to do with science - no high schooler can have knowledge about all of those areas. It's just a test of how fast you can read.

My theory on Wash U and maybe other schools is they want high scores mainly to increase their prestige in US News Report, etc. Your 32 will translate to a higher SAT for them.

My son's counselor told him to send both his ACT scores to only Wash U since Wash U and Indiana U are among the very few schools that superscore ACT scores. His score was 34 but superscored it was a 35. He was told by his counselor they do that to raise their average scores for the US News Rankings since Wash U he was told is very concerned about US News rankings. So based on our experience, I would do that. Oh, and for those who will ask, yes he was admitted and no he didn't decide to go there.

i will definitely submit my ACT scores, but i started this thread to ask if i should send in my SAT socres as well, which was a 2020, and my previous post tells you what my subjects scores are.

My son didn't submit his SATs (took it once). He took the ACTs twice. I don't recall what he did with subject tests. They were good scores but unless a school required them I doubt he would have submitted them.
