Should I send in my AP test scores? Not so stellar but I got National AP Scholar

Here are my scores:

Sophomore year:
European History - 4
Computer Science A - 5

Junior year:
Calculus BC - 5 (AB subscore - 5)
US History - 5
Computer Science AB - 4 (ouch, especially since I'm going to major in CS)
Macroeconomics - 4
Literature and Composition - 4
Physics B - 4

Would it look bad if I only got 3 5s? Does National AP Scholar even mean anything? I'm applying to Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon SCS, UC Berkeley, Michigan - Ann Arbor, UIUC, and Purdue btw.

Oh god. Only 3 5s? Be quiet.

National AP scholar means nothing. It just means that you've taken and lot of APs and done well on them.

it means you are only 1 out of 7000+ students have earn that title. I think it does mean something, but your scores are good, 4s and 5s are good.

why wouldn't you send them in? Did you spend money on the test for nothing?

We don't post to give people like you attention

I guarantee you that 4s on AP tests won't hurt your chances of admission anywhere. AP scores generally aren't considered at all anyway. And of course, once your admitted there's no reason not to see what kind of courses you can opt out of because of your APs. That being said, don't worry about the CS AP score. You're better off starting with a low-level CS class anyway because I'm sure your AP class left out some important stuff that you will learn better at a college class.

only about 400 (something like that) kids nationwide are national scholars after junior year. it definitely does mean something, and you should definitely put it down. your scores, while not "amazing," are nothing to sneeze at. congratulations

This thread exemplifies the best of CC, and I mean that in a positive way.

Elite Newb, you should definitely send in those scores. You have earned the National AP Scholar Award, which few students in our nation earn.

Okay, thanks, just wondering. I'm really glad that my school offers so many AP classes.

Send them in, they won't hurt only help since National AP scholar is pretty prestigious.
