Okay, so at my school, the semester just ended, and we just got our grades done. The schools that I'm applying to, they requested grades, and so they were sent my quarter grades and last year's grades. But this semester's grades are sooo much better than my quarter grades, since quarter grades don't count for anything, so teachers tend to be more harsh with those grades. Should I send them my semester grades now?

Thanks! But Andover and other schools say that they won’t take anything after 31st Jan… or it’ll be considered late. But my applications are all done, this is additional. I can’t call, so do you think that they’ll still accept the grades and add them to my file? It’ll also probably take about a week to get there…
Thanks

I think you should go ahead and send them in. Since the grades are semester grades, and were just released, you didn’t have the option to send them in before now. I am not an admissions officer, so this is just my opinion, but I would say the chances are very good that they will be added to your file.

Yes, I expect they will be very happy to get them.

Stop thinking of the AO people as mindless bureaucrats. They are not. They don’t face the problem that some organizations (such as governments do) that force hard and fast deadlines in some things.

You can also scan the grades you just received and send them in email immediately, while your school does its thing “officially”.

Again, they aren’t out to reject people for the sake of rejecting people: they are just trying to admit the best class they can with the information they can get.

A lot of schools ask you to send your current grades, and if not available by the deadline that’s fine, but to send them as soon as possible. I think you must send them, and don’t worry, they’re not “late” if they just came out. Good luck!
