Should I send in these SAT II scores?

I got a 640 in chemistry and a 630 in Math I....

I don't know if I should send them. Will sending these scores in look worse than not sending any in?

Well you have to… georgetown requires you to send all scores. At least thats what I thought…

You have to send them. Georgetown doesn’t participate in the Score Choice option.

[Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/scorechoicepolicy.cfm)

[Score Choice - New SAT Score-Reporting Policy](Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board)

SAT subject tests are not required.

^Yes, they are. They are the only college that still requires three for admission.

it is only “strongly recommended”
[Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/applying_firstyear_preparation.cfm)

something is “required” if your application is considered incomplete without it. which is not the case for SAT II subject tests. although not submitting SAT II scores will probably hurt you, it will not nullify your application.

Keep in mind that Georgetown specifically says on their website that if an applicant does not take three tests he/she should explain why they have not taken them. So you would either have to tell them you’re violating their policy on receiving all scores, or lie and pretend like you didn’t take them. Neither are good options. There’s always January.

@nateheeter

I dont understand… if I’ve only taken two subject tests, I need to write to them and explain why I didn’t take a third one? that makes no sense…

“Candidates applying under the Early Action plan who have not yet taken three Subject Tests should still register to take the tests in the event they are deferred from Early Action to Regular Decision. If there are extenuating circumstances which prevent an applicant from submitting three SAT Subject Test scores, the applicant should provide a written explanation to the Committee on Admissions to be included with the application.”

the website is saying if you applied EA but didnt get a chance to take the subject tests before it, register to take them after the deadline, IN CASE you get deferred. meaning, there is a chance you can get accepted without them.
Then it says if there were legal reasons that you TOOK the test but DIDNT SUBMIT the score then you can explain. it doesnt say you need to write to us and explain if you havent taken them. if you dont take them… well then your problem. it can help you, but if you choose not to then its your own choice.

I dont need to explain why i didn’t take a third one. do i?
