Should I send my ACT scores??

I already applied early action, and have already sent my sat scores.
These scores are 770 CR, 710 M, 750 W (Sat I)
780 Math 2, 730 Bio

I got a 33 composite on the October ACT (with a 34 math and 28 science)
I think the 34 math will look better than the 710, but the 28 science is horrible. When I took the test, I did not know that the ACT does not penalize for guessing, and left 7 blank.

I know MIT says that they look at whatever makes you look best, but that 28 science is really low.

Any advice?

Do colleges even care about the science section? I mean, even for schools which place an emphasis on math and science, I am still skeptical about science (in general, as opposed to SAT IIs) on standardized tests being worth anything. I ran out of time halfway through and forgot to just guess, so I got a 27 on it. I got a 34 on math and 32 comp though.

yeah... I really don't think that the ACT science section really tests scientific knowledge, or the ability to apply scientific knowledge. It just tests the ability to read graphs quickly. I would hope that colleges (especially MIT) realize this, but I'm not sure if they do consider individual sections or not. Does anyone know for sure?

MIT really, really, truly only looks at the scores that will make you look the best. You have nothing to lose by sending the score.

Just because you personally bombed science does not mean the section is worthless or that the score is disregarded by college adcoms -__- While ACT science is not a test of scientific facts, it is a test of scientific reasoning, and covers a lot more than just 'reading graphs'.

Yes nalydylan these science scores shall definitely destroy your chances. jk

ohh... come on cruz... i didn't raise your old threads from their graves; they were merely in the process of dying.

I saw the science part too...
it's never mega difficult stuff...
it's more about the scientific method... like labs than how ADP are converted to ATP and how much calories it produce.

@ nalydylan:
You could have given them a proper burial. You have no respect for the kb Church's views on death.
