Should I send my rank?

Hi all,

I admit my rank sucks, but then my school profile hurts my case for where I want to apply.

Male in Texas
GPA: 3.74, Weighted: 4.23
Rank: 19/124
SAT: 1520 (800 Math, 720 Verbal)
SAT 2: 760 Math 2, 720 US History, 720 World History

My top choice is Vassar, where I’m applying ED1. (57% of admits submitted rank)
Top 10%: 72% of admits
Top 15%: 85% of admits
Top 20%: 92% of admits

My HS profile:
3.5-4.0: 55% of graduating class

I feel that they’re gonna think I’m like in the second quarter or something based on my GPA if I don’t submit rank, but then because a bunch of kids left my hs, my percentage went down to give me an even slimmer chance of admission.

Please help!!!

Unless I’m missing something, your HS does not rank, so the question is academic. If your school is not listing a rank on the transcript, then don’t stick in an unofficial number that a GC may have told you, lest the AO think you’re pulling a number out of your butt. AOs will have a way of estimating rank, so no need to help them along.

As an aside, this site is called College Confidential so don’t be listing your HS name (which I’ve edited out).
