Should I send my SAT II scores?

710 WH
710 Physics
790 Math II
670 Lit

As for lit, im an international student and have been studying english for about 6 years... i dont really read that much, either. yes, an excuse, i know :p

Should I send them? Would they consider it?
Some says they don't even look at it, some says they do... im confused @_@

Also... is it true that U Chicago accepts like, one international that needs FA?
...that will be a problem for me. but I already sent my transcript, so i feel like i should complete my application..

They don’t require SATII, but they do look at them.

I would send them. I had 790 Spanish, 760 US History, and 730 Literature. And I definitely got a 690 on lit the first time around–and I’m a native English speaker! I find it ironic that the language that I taught myself by reading children’s books in Spanish is the one I scored highest on. Oh well…

Yes, send them! Even though they’re not required, I think that they would be an asset to your application. The more good info you provide, the better.

wow, you self taught Spanish?! AND you scored 790. that’s amazing. I’m in Spanish 2 right now, hahaha. learning with bunch of freshman kids
Should I not send my Lit score? I feel like I shouldn’t because it’s not even over 700…

Does it make sense to send a 710 Math I ?

pooooh–The SAT website allows selective sending, so if you just want to send the scores you’re happy with, I don’t see why that would be a problem. I know that some schools require you to send ALL SAT that you have ever taken (Georgetown, Ivies, etc), but since Chicago doesn’t require any, sending only your best would be fine.

And Spanish is FUN! (Especially when you’re teaching it to yourself by reading Allende, Marquez, Neruda, and Lorca!) I enjoy languages a bit too much. I’m working on learning French and Italian (both of which I can read–neither of which I can pronounce–but I’m trying!) I’m planning on being a linguistics major, so languages have always been easy for me. Arabic is my next project, but that one’s slightly more daunting…

I had a 740 Math II, 640 USH when I applied EA. Sent both, got in. Good luck!

aleeroz - ah, linguistics  i think i am most likely to major in international relations. i love languages as well, but they give me so much headaches! Arabic seems impossible to learn for me… i think i might try Chinese, since Korean and Chinese are somewhat similar. …but not really, so i’d have to see. i also want to learn French, but i think Spanish and English are more than what I can take, haha.
HonorsCentaur - congratulations! and thanks!

Yeah that’s amazing aleeroz haha, my friend has been taking spanish for six years and didn’t crack 600 :)

To answer the original question, Poooh: I’d say that it depends what your SAT/ACT scores are… Will the SAT IIs make you look better, worse, or the same?

well, as for Lit, my CR score was even lower than 670, but still pretty close, so I don’t know if I should submit it or not @.@ i got considerably high scores for math and writing (770 for both) and I didn’t take ACT.
math II i think i’ll submit although it wouldn’t help me too greatly, because it’s a good score. (although I was aiming for a 800… well, i can never get a perfect score on anything.)
idk about world history and physics… WOULD they help me?

I say submit all three, there is no way a score of 710 is going to reflect negatively on you. Plus as an non-native speaker your 710 WH may help reassure them of your English abilities. :)
