Should I send my SAT score?

ACT: 35 composite (36 reading, 35 english, 35 math, 33 science)
SAT: 2210 (700 cr, 730 math, 780 writing)

For schools that give me the choice, would it be a bad idea to send my SAT score? Will my critical reading and math SAT scores be a detriment to my apps for top schools like Duke or Brown? Even though I got a 36 on the ACT reading, I can't help but think that seeing my below-average critical reading and math scores (for their applicant pools) would make them question it, or make them less inclined to accept me.

Or am I completely over-analyzing this?

In this SAT range, there’s not too much to worry about. While it’s not perfect, its definitely very good, and honestly, a 2200 is really no different from a 2300. So as long as your teacher recs, extracurrrics, and GPA are good, you have a great chance of getting in.

I don’t understand your logic.

With a 35 ACT, why would you consider spending money on an additional test score that does nothing to help you?

@entomom Even if scores are not officially sent through college board, they can be self-reported by myself on the common app and on my school’s transcript.

Let’s try this one more time, why would you spend money to send test scores that you don’t need? Whether or not they are self-reported or on your HS transcript is immaterial.

If they are:

Not required.

Not helpful.

Why would you spend money to send them?

Maybe you’re asking because you see other people ask about sending additional scores? But the thing with your SAT score is that there is nothing about it that is an improvement on your ACT, so there is no possible reason to send them.

Your ACT scores are better than your SAT scores. Just send your ACT scores.

@entomom As I said, there are ways of showing schools my scores without paying to officially sending them through College Board. The money is not the issue here.
Why the condescending tone? I don’t consider this to be a particularly foolish question. I’m merely asking for the opinions of others who may know better than I do. For all I know schools would like to see that I was able to do well on both tests, even if I scored better on one.

You both said what I had been thinking, but then my school guidance counselor told me that I should send both. She seemed to think that there was some sense of “dishonesty” or a lack of integrity in not sending both scores, which I hadn’t considered before.

35 ACT is sweet! You do not need to send the SAT, but it would not hurt. If it were me, I would send both. Either way, you are going to be fine - congratulations!
