Is there any disadvantage to receiving money from colleges by sending your SAT/ACT scores before application? How do colleges use this information?

No, there isn’t. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s the norm for many schools. Send your SAT/ACT scores ASAP, and the colleges will just slide the information into a file for you. When your application is sent in, that will complete your file for review.

This has no impact on financial aid; just make sure your FAFSA/CSS/other required forms for finaid are sent in on time.
