Hi I'm only a junior and I took the December SAT. I got a good score (2200), but my critical reading score was unsatisfying(640). As a result, I plan on taking the SAT again this month of January. Should I even begin to consider sending my scores in to colleges or is it way to early? I don't know if I want to report the December scores because I will probably do better on the upcoming test. Help please!

Very impressive score, especially as a junior. You do not have to send your scores yet and I would suggest not sending them. Plan on taking the SAT again if you’re confident that you can maintain your performance in M and W, just know that statistically most people in your score range will do worse when they retake it.

Remember to look at your colleges to see if they have score choice, in which case you will be sending your best scores from each of the sections (this would help if you do worse in math or writing next time). Also check any other requirements, such as SAT II subject tests, and get started on those. Good luck!
