Should I send my SAT scores?

Hi,
I’m applying ED to Bowdoin and am not sure whether I should send my SAT scores.
Maths: 660
Writing: 660
Reading: 670

Total: 1990

I’m being recruited as an athlete and am an international applicant.

Should I send them or leave them out?

How are your grades? What sport are you being recruited for? Your scores are solid, if not stellar. I’d send them. Don’t think they’ll hurt your chances.

*My grades are really good. I take the hardest courses available and am in the top 5% for all, if not higher.

Thanks for your help.

If your test scores were going to rule you out, the coach probably would have told you. It’s not worth it to the coach to continue recruiting a player who has little chance of being admitted, especially for a sport like tennis. We’re not talking football-size rosters here. That said, recruited tennis players tend to have relatively high scores/academics as recruited athletes go. For my son, who was admitted and was recruited (different sport), the coach gave him an idea of what % of all applicants with his scores were admitted. For the general student body, your scores are on the low side, but I don’t know what scores for internationals look like. Can you get some guidance from the coach? Did the coach get a preread from Admissions for you?

Thanks for the help. Yeah, the coach just asked me to send reports and SAT scores to him so I can get a preread from Admissions. Thinks I should be fine though due to my grades and ec’s. Thanks!

Steve - The coach can probably tell you better than any of us whether you should submit your scores. . . .
