Should I send my scores to Northwestern?

I got a 560 on Chemistry, 570 on Literature, and 590 on Math 2. I’m not sure if I can retake them in the fall since I’m for sure taking the September ACT (I got a 30 in April). I know that Northwestern doesn’t require scores from the subject tests, so should I even bother sending them? I’m not applying to any schools that require them.

No northwestern doesn’t care at all about subject tests unless you did really well and want to brag so there’s really no point at all. I myself did really bad on 3 of them because the content of the tests didn’t match my school’s AP curriculums and I don’t think it mattered.

And for some of the tests like I know Math 2 13-16% of people who take it get a 800 so really its probably not worth it. Good Luck!

@Weasleygirl17 One thing to consider: when Noethwestern says they are optional, it usually means they want them. In your case, with rather low scores, you will have to consider whether or not you want to submit “optional” tests. Hope that helps.

You don’t need to send them until you get better scores because Northwestern doe not require them. High SAT@ scores will definitely help in application.
