Should I send my test scores now or later?

So I’m a Junior taking the Oct 24th ACT, but I’ll be applying to colleges in January (colleges with rolling admissions) because I will be graduating early this summer and going to college in the fall. Should I go ahead and choose to send colleges my scores now so that I can send them free, or wait until I’m actually applying?

Personally, I would go ahead and send your scores now so that you can get them for free. I haven’t taken the ACT, but I have taken the SAT twice. My school had a school day SAT in the spring for all juniors (I’m a senior now), and the guidance counselor showed us how to choose the colleges that we wanted to send our scores to. Even though we weren’t applying to colleges back in the spring, the counselors still highly encouraged us to choose colleges as score recipients. By sending colleges your scores, they can create a profile for you. Since you’re applying to colleges in January, sending your ACT scores 3 months early won’t make that much of a difference (plus it will be free for you now!). Hopefully that makes sense. Good luck!

@LionKing2398 That did make sense, and thank you

When will sending scores not be free? I faintly recall there is a time period to send it for free and after it costs around $10.
