So all of my schools only recommend sending them. I'm applying for CS in UC's and USC. I know many people in ENG will have taken it. I'm taking my subject tests in December 6. However, I do not know if I'll even get more than 500 in Chemistry as self-study did not work. The last time I took Chemistry was in 10th grade and it was Honors at that. My PR book had so much stuff I did not learn. On practice test I keep skipping questions. However, I'm doing a really good job on Math II. Will a strong Math II score but weak Chemistry score get me a rejection? Chemistry is not even related to my field. I should have actually taken Physics subject test but I'm actually taking AP Physics this year. I have everything else good - good EC's, great essays, and great scores + GPA. So what should I do? Not take the tests at all or send both?

No idea on rejections, but it is possible to switch what SAT subject test you are registered for, if you are that concerned about it.

see <a href=“Changing Your Registration Info – SAT Suite | College Board”>The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board, specifically -
"Changes to SAT Subject Tests
On test day you can change which SAT Subject Tests you are taking, except for Language with Listening Tests. There is no charge for changing from one Subject Test to a different Subject Test. If you add a test, you will be billed for the additional fee. Note that some students may not be able to change tests on test day if required materials are not available.

Students can add a Language with Listening Test (extra fee applies) or select a different Language with Listening Test (at no additional charge). Please note that only one listening test can be taken on test day.

If you are testing outside the U.S., you may not make changes to Language with Listening tests after the registration deadline."

No idea if that changes your score report times, but it could be helpful. I wouldn’t recommend switching tests with a week left to study, but I just thought you might want to know.

Oh yeah - if you already sent in your application with chemistry on it, and DO end up switching, you’ll probably need to call the admissions office and tell them you are planning on taking a different SAT subject test (if you reported it on your application, that is).

Well I honestly didn’t have time to study. Is it ok if I only send ONE subject test (Math II) to USC or similar that only RECOMMENDS it instead of requiring it? Or is it going to be an outright rejection?
