I am applying ED this year and just got back subject test scores:
Math 1: 720
Math 2: 720
Biology: 780

this was my 1st time taking the subject tests and my Math score sucked; it's lower than my SAT I. I stayed up until 4 am studying for Bio on the night before the SAT and was burned out by math - left several problems blank. I thought I could fix it with a Math 1 (big mistake) but ended up being too tired to do well on that either. I have one more shot to take the SAT (october) before ED apps are due.
Thing is, I want to spend that chance to better my SAT I. SAT I scores are:
Math: 760
CR: 620
Writing: 670
Total: 2050

I screwed up and forgot about the ED deadline and could have taken the SAT 1 AGAIN earlier (only took that once too). what should I do - go for SAT 1 in october??? I KNOW THAT I CAN BETTER MY SCORES IN CR AND WRITING.
HELP ME!!! I'M NOT GOING TO GET IN CORNELLL AND IT IS MY DREAM SCHOOL

I think most top tier schools, Cornell included, don’t give much esteem to Math I. I wouldn’t bother with sending that. Your Math II seems fine to me, although I’m not sure what Cornell considers good. Bio is good.

I’d say go ahead and retake the SAT I, since it sounds like you’re seriously worried about it. I don’t see any harm in trying for improvement.

Go for SAT I and bring up your CR score. It is low for Cornell. Your SAT IIs are fine. There was no need to take Math I if you were taking Math II, but they are fine.

Sat ii scores don’t really matter as long as you get 700+ and math ii is more important than math I. Your SAT I score should be a bigger worry- a 1380 cr/math (Cornell does not look at writing) is pretty weak. Focus more on the sat I forget about the sat ii.

And trust me, from experience, dont put so much hopes and dreams on Cornell. There is a good chance you won’t get in and even if you do you may not be able to afford $60,000 a year without taking on huge loans. It is a lot harder on you of Cornell is your ‘dream school’ and it turns out you can’t go. Start looking at other options including safeties an matches
