Hello everyone. I just have a little question and would like your insight. How does it look to inform a school via email about accomplishment(s) that happened after submitting the initial college application? Just wondering how this is viewed and whether it is suggested to this.
Unless the school says otherwise on their website, go for it! Ask them to please consider the additional information with the rest of your application. If you send to multiple schools, be sure to carefully proof each email to make sure you got the right college name in it.
My kids sent them to the main admissions email, as reps are super busy right now and you want to make sure it gets to your application.
It is fine to send an email to your admissions officer. You can reaffirm your interest in the school and give the update – just keep it short and sweet (no more than a paragraph).
I agree with @happy1. But, to a certain extent, it may depend upon the significance of the accomplishment & upon the particular school.
Yes! Do it. Usually you would reiterate your interest in the school. I’d advise even a clear statement, if true, that you’d go if offered a slot. But not if there are any factors (financial or an offer from another school you’d favor, especially if they offered you more funding or merit or whatever). But either way, fill the AO in on any recent accomplishments. Oh yeah, and congratulations on having them. During this absurd process, most students are having difficulty handling their usual day-to-day responsibilities, let alone having new accomplishments to report. So congratulations on that!
I would only do this if it is a major accomplishment.
