Should I send updates to Princeton?

I know that if you retook a standardized test or something, you can send it as an update to Princeton.

But what if you presented your summer research at a state research conference? Can you send that as a small update?

My counselor cautioned to be careful when sending updates, saying that "small things might hurt you".

In your opinion, should I send that update? Thanks.

I know students often send a short update in january or so if they’ve been deferred, but I probably wouldn’t send anything now.

Why would it matter if you presented science research? I’m sure whatever it is you mentioned about your research on the application would make it seem significant enough that presenting it at a conference would hardly be more than an ornament.

Anyone else? Does it hurt to send it now?

I don’t think it could hurt. I’m planning to send an update sometime later this month on a competition I was in. You’re over-thinking this!

I’m just worried cuz my counselor said to not update them on small things, and I wasn’t sure if presenting research at a state conference is small. It does show that you’re going beyond the lab, right?
