I just came back from a financial aid interview with my admissions counselor at at one of my top choice colleges. In this interview my parents came along and my mom was REALLY rude and pushy! She was grabbing all the lady's stuff and talking down to her like she was stupid. It was really bad and I was embarrassed. She didn't even let me speak most of the time and was just overall rude.

I was thinking about sending some type of email to her saying sorry and thanking her for her time. Should I? If so, what should I say?

I think sorry and thanks is just fine. Keep it short and don’t bash your mom.
This is a stressful time for everyone, and I’m sure the interviewer has seen plenty of goofy behaviors.

How do I go about saying it? Like what do I say?

You say ‘thanks very much for your time. I am sure you could tell that this is a stressful process for my family, and I appreciate your patience and all the information you were able to give.’

–So you acknowledge that you are aware your mom behaved badly without bashing her and at the same time thank the counselor for her handling of the situation. And then leave it at that.

I like Snowdog’s wording. It makes your point clearly without totally throwing your mother under the bus.
