Should I sit for the SAT 1 again?

My scores: M740, CR730, W760(essay 12/12)
I would be applying this december to most top universities, some mediocre safeties as well. I have seen people with lower scores than mine get into Harvard, Uchicago and other universities and i ave also seen people with higher scores to get rejected from these. Some even say scores higher than 2270 are looked down upon as it shous that you are a nerd. Others claim that the higher your scores, the better your chances, ceteris paribus.

I do not know if I should be wasting my time on another SAT 1 exam while i could be focussing on my extracurriculars and brushing up my essays. On the oter hand, some universties, like UChicago, look only at math and critical reading, in which i do not have that great of a score.

Don't get me wrong. I am happy about a 2230. I just don't want to make a bad move that could haunt me for years to come.

p.s. international student. if that helps in any way.

Your SAT scores are fine as is. Having a 2300+ isn’t going to help you much over a 2230, and your subscores are all strong. There’s no point retaking it IMO.

However, it may be worth attempting the ACT, as some people do better on the SAT than the SAT. I always suggest trying both once if at all possible.
