should i skip going to my senior party vs going somewhere else?

Hi I was just wondering if you guys can help me decide between going to my senior party after my HS graduation....which is basically this all night party with food, games, music etc. and it's basically the last time our senior class will be together (which, actually i could care less about b/c I don't like/ have many friends w/ the people in my grade). I mean , I'm not even sure if I'd like the food over there...or have fun. It costs $70 to go.

OR should I just go out to dinner with my family and some friends and call it a night?

money's kind of tight right now..so I have no idea what would be the best option.

WTH $70 to attend a senior party?! It’s free at my school and I’m not even going…

70 is a huge-ass ripoff. Stick with close friends and family.

hahaha yeah i know! and it costs $100 at the door! :l ridiculousss

but if i invited around 7 people to a dinner how much could i expect to spend? any suggestions for restaurants or any places to eat? (good & affordable?).

Kind of a similar story: I skipped my senior prom to attend two college overnight open houses on the other side of the country. When I saw prom photos on facebook I was a little sad, but the decision was SO worth it, especially since my trips were all-expenses-covered and I would have spent a ****load of money on prom.

I think that if you went to other senior events like prom and other dances, or rallies, fundraisers etc (whatever your school has), you’ll be fine skipping this senior party. Honestly for me, a big part of going to these events is not to feel left out afterwards when everyone else is talking about them, but if it’s after graduation then that won’t happen.

actually, I’m also skipping my senior prom :frowning: but I don’t think I’ll regret it in the future…I hope…haha

I just graduated this past Wednesday, and we had a senior all-night party thing too, scheduled from right after grad to 5 am the next morning. I didn’t go, even though it was free (or so said that it was free, really it was probably just covered in our senior graduation $150 fee at the beginning of the year). I also didn’t go to senior prom, like you too…

Our party was where they told our parents where we were going first, which parents weren’t supposed to tell us- it’s supposed to be where we get on a bus and don’t know where we’re going. My parents told me about it, because they knew I wouldn’t want to go, and I didn’t sign up for it. They don’t allow us to bring our cell phones either, so if you were there and hated it, you can’t even call your parents to come get you. If I could have had either my phone or my car there, I maybe would have considered going. Then they take us to a second place, which they don’t even tell our parents about…I just didn’t want to go at all.

My parents and I just went out to eat after graduation instead, and it was just fine. No one yet has bugged me about not going to the party.
