Should I skip history? JUNIOR

Alright, so I'm really nervous about next year and I just need some advice.
I have some courses I want to take, and I'm not sure if it will be a good idea.
My goal is to get into a competitive college, so I really want to get as much advice/help
as possible to achieve my dreams. :3

Courses I plan to take:
AP Biology (year long)
AP Calculus AB (or BC, but I still do not know which one is better?) (year long)
AP English Lit (or lang? what is the difference?) (one semester)
HN Spanish 4 (one semester)
Studio Art 1 (one semester)
...
Okay, so the problem starts here. I am supposed to have eight courses in a year, and they are split up into 2 semesters. However, history is pretty difficult for me, and I am afraid I may be put into a semester with All three AP's PLUS history. -_-
SO I have been thinking to skip history junior year, take two classes of art instead...and then take APUSH during senior year.
So, is this a good idea? Or should I NOT skip history?

I also want to do really well on the SAT's (haha well everyone does >_<). Any tips to achieve good scores? I have signed up for SAT classes...but that's all...

THANKS SO MUCH :3

I didn’t think history was that hard.

Haha, I know it isn’t for some. I mean I got an A+ this year for history…but I spent A LOT of time, and put in a lot of work to get that grade. So I’m still deciding. :frowning: But I don’t know what to do!

AP lit is a bunch of reading actually. AP Lang is more english in my opinion. AB is recommend for BC.

You probably shouldn’t skip history all together but maybe instead of apush you could take an easier history class like ap European history or ap world history if your school offered them.

I would take AP Lang if you can before AP lit (just my opinion) and what problems do you have specifically with history? If you’re looking to get into the ivies and top schools, they may look for four years of some sort of history so you’ll just need to deal with that. These are recommendations but when you’re competing with people who can get all As in classes they may not like, you’ll need to make yourself competitive as well.

Hmm, I like English better than history though. haha xD I don’t know why, but I’ve always found history a lot harder >_<
So AB is better? or BC is better? Sorry, I still don’t know which Calc class to take either.

^^ At my school you can’t take AP Lang until you passed AP Lit.

For calc I would go for bc because it is 60% of the same material and just a few new topics especially if you are good with math but if not I would go for ab

OH whoops. I didn’t see the previous comments.
@Tennischick97- Okay. I will definitely consider that! Wait, so European history is easier? :o
My school does offer that, but since not a lot of people took it, I thought it wouldn’t be too great. Thanks!
@Aquiana- AP lang? hmm :3 I heard it was a lot of debating and discussion involved right?
Alright. Thanks so much! I will probably rethink about skipping history now. :/

hmmm… I just read that my school doesn’t offer Calculus BC O_O

I agree with tennis chick, AP euro is definitely easier than APUSH! APUSH is sooo much work

Why did people even went for APUSH… At my school those who applied got like THE biggest packet to do over the summer

yeah APUSH is pretty intense, but if you could handle it, I’d say go for it…

I’ve heard that AP World History is easier than AP European History…

At least at my school it is but it really depends. I would ask kids taking all of the history classes how hard they are.

I have taken all three AP histories and I found US the easiest. The material that is covered isn’t as extensive as the other two in my opinion.

You don’t have to take history. I’m taking American Studies II my Junior year, instead of an AP history class because I hate history. Also I would take Calculus AB. At my school you have to take both, AB and BC and pick the AP test you want to take.
