i am currently struggling and i dont know whether my family should "invest" 200k to fund my education in us...

my family can afford the expenses and they will not face any financial difficulty but i am worried that my parents can actually make better use of the money... i dont think i can earn back that much within several years after i graduate... they may actually yield a higher return if they choose to invest in real estate or stocks...

in my country, a typical college graduates earns about 18-20k usd a year right after they graduate, employers may treat grads return from us/uk slightly better but i dont think i can earn much more than 20k unless i am from top tier ones like the ivies/oxbridge...
i really afraid that i would regret spent too much on education after 10 years...

i can also go to uk and it would costs 130-140k only, which is much cheaper... but my offer in uk is worse than my us one and i am afraid graduating from that uni in uk would not make me more preferrable comparing with local graduates in my home country

can someone give me advice or share some experiences

That’s what I am concerning about too.
The fee seems unreasonably expensive considering the fact that a college education does not guarantee success in one’s life…
I guess you should apply to schools that offeres need blind for international students but those schools are so hard to get in

the problem is my parents and i do not need to borrow any money to finance the education and we dont have any financial difficulty (although there is alternative use of their savings and its hard for me earn the money back after i return to my home countries as salaries is low here…)
so applying need blind colleges does not help because i am not qualified for financial aid…

Maybe it’s kinda rude, but how much do your parents make?
Because those need blind schools offer financial aid for moderately rich kids too.
Therefore, if you can earn the aid, you can let your parents to use their saving for other things. And don’t forget a graduate school is more expensive than a college.

i think most colleges which offer generous need blind aid to international students are extremely selective and it seems impossible for me to get admitted in these colleges…

Well… College education in the United States for international students who intend to go back to their country is valuable if and only if they go to an excellent schools such as ivies,Stanford, uchicago, and washu.
